Roy Keane found himself on the receiving end of some banter when Jill Scott playfully called him a "k***head" - with the Manchester United legend hitting back by calling her a "classy lady".

The entertaining back and forth was on the Stick to Football podcast, where many hilarious moments have become commonplace on the show thanks to the engaging combination of personalities including Gary Neville and Ian Wright. A recent episode saw the group indulge in humorous antics while in Germany, following England's journey to the Euro 2024 final.

After a comical discussion about their outdated names, inspired by the fact that fewer than 30 babies were named Gary in 2021, Wright was rechristened 'Teddy' by his colleagues. Scott then jokingly suggested that Keane should be known as "k***head".

The former Ireland star had a quippy comeback for Scott, dubbing her sarcastically as a "classy lady" before questioning if she'd be using such "vulgar" language at Wimbledon. The show also saw conversation drift towards tennis, following Andy Murray's retirement announcement post his final appearance at SW19.

While Scott, Wright and Neville mourned the impending conclusion of the Scottish player's commendable career, Keane had a different viewpoint. Unsympathetic, he said: "He's 37 years old, had a brilliant career but had plenty of injuries, so he should count his blessings that he's had such a successful career.

"He must have been crying... although it's okay to cry. That's not sad news. It's good news. He's got a lovely family. Good luck to him. He had a brilliant career. They talk about him playing in a great era... we were up against the great Barcelona. He could have been with Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe!"

As the conversation turned to tennis, Scott shared that her prowess on the court as a young girl led to her being crowned the under-13 champion in her home city of Sunderland. Contrary to Neville's belief that there may not be an abundance of tennis courts where she grew up, Keane humorously suggested: "That's why she's the champion. There was no playing! Jesus".

The trio of Keane, Neville, and Wright will take their regular place on ITV to deliver their usual analysis of the Euro 2024 final on Sunday, where England will hope to clinch their first European Championship against Spain.
