England defender Marc Guehi proved he is not just a classy performer on the pitch, but also when the final whistle blows as well after the Three Lions sealed their place in the Euro 2024 final. Gareth Southgate's men are one game away from a historic triumph and celebrated wildly following their 2-1 semi-final victory over the Netherlands, but Guehi's act of sportsmanship caught the eye.

Guehi played the entire 90 minutes in Dortmund and battled valiantly against Wout Weghorst, the towering Netherlands player, to keep the scores level.

Few players would have passed up the opportunity to celebrate as soon as the final whistle went after the Three Lions' late victory. But the Crystal Palace star is clearly built differently, as his classy actions didn't go unnoticed by onlookers.

While his team-mates savoured their incredible achievement of reaching the final, Guehi reportedly headed over to the Netherlands bench and acknowledged every player.

The centre-back then rejoined the festivities on the pitch in Dortmund as England clinched their spot in back-to-back European Championship finals for the first time in their history.

The 23-year-old has proved to be one of the more reserved members of the squad and usually keeps a low profile.

His performances during the tournament have propelled him into the limelight after some stellar displays at the heart of the England defence.

Guehi, who was handed a recall by Southgate after serving a one-game suspension, replaced Ezri Konsa in the lineup and once again proved to be a reliable presence in the backline.

The Three Lions got off to a disastrous start after Declan Rice gave away possession cheaply and Xavi Simons fired past Jordan Pickford from 20 yards with only seven minutes gone.

Harry Kane won a controversial penalty after a foul from Denzel Dumfries and comfortably dispatched the spot-kick to draw England level.

With the clock ticking down, Southgate sent on Ollie Watkins and Cole Palmer late on. And the pair produced the goods in the 90th minute, with Palmer's pass finding Watkins and the striker flashed home a stunning effort to seal England's place in the final.

They will face Spain on Sunday at the Olympiastadion, after La Roja beat France 2-1 on Tuesday, with the chance to make history on German soil.
