Jurgen Klopp gets new project as three-year deal announced after Liverpool exit

Jurgen Klopp's management team, Project MJK, has announced a three-year partnership with global sports marketing agency SPORTFIVE after leaving Liverpool. The deal will see the agency act as Klopp's commercial and marketing representative for the next three years, focusing on bolstering his global brand presence and cultivating international partnerships and markets, particularly in Asia and the USA.

This partnership led to the launch of a personal Instagram account for Klopp last month, aimed at bringing him closer to his fans and strengthening his global reach. "We are very excited about this partnership," said Mike Jaggle, the managing director of MJK.

"The industry leading experience and global infrastructure of SPORTFIVE will enable us to expand our footprint and to explore innovative opportunities outside of Germany."

SPORTFIVE's Chief Operating Officer Philipp Hasenbein hailed Klopp as a paragon of leadership as he stated: "Jurgen Klopp is the embodiment of excellence, mentoring, emotional intelligence, leadership and long-term vision," and "His values align seamlessly with ours, and we are excited to collaborate with Project MJK to enhance Jurgen's global reach."

Senior Vice President of Global Athlete and Team Marketing Ron Wiegand expressed his pride at working alongside Klopp and his team, adding: "We are proud to have Project MJK and Jurgen Klopp on board with us.

"We couldn't be more thrilled to successfully develop Jurgen's brand globally including social media management, media collaborations and new authentic commercial partnerships in the next years."

Klopp is set to take a sabbatical after leaving Liverpool and was most recently spotted at the Champions League final, where his former team Borussia Dortmund lost to Real Madrid.

He will be enjoying Euro 2024 as a fan in his home nation this summer, but curiously has not ruled out a return to work in the future, downplaying the idea that he could retire.

"It's out of the question that I'll stop working altogether," the German said. "But I don't see myself continuing at the same pace as before at the moment.

"A coach is a coach. And you do it with everything you have, or nothing at all. That's how I understand it. Now I'm taking my time off. How am I supposed to know how I'll feel during or after the time off, and what I want to do then? I have no idea. Let's wait and see."
