John Pantsil urges Ghana stiker Asmoah Gyan to put penalty despair behind him
JOHN Pantsil has warned Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan to put his penalty despair against Uruguay behind him – or risk it ruining his career.
Gyan hit the bar with a spot-kick in the last seconds of extra-time, after Luis Suarez handled on the line – and Uruguay went on to win 4-2 in the penalty shoot-out.
Pantsil said: “We told Asamoah anyone can miss a penalty. If he continues to think about it, it is going to affect him.
“It shows character that he took one in the shoot-out. He will soon forget it. He has to.”
