Man Utd star Andre Onana makes huge error gifting Bayern Munich goal

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana made another major error that led to a goal as he let Leroy Sane's long-range shot slip through his hands as Bayern Munich took the lead in their Champions League tie on Wednesday. The former Manchester City forward took aim from range in a speculative effort and Onana was unable to keep his strike out, as his side went a goal down in Germany.
United were level with Bayern and looked threatening until Onana's blunder, with Marcus Rashford and Christian Eriksen among those going close in an entertaining first 45 minutes.
Sane played a one-two on the edge of the box with Harry Kane and his low effort bobbled on the ground before it reached Onana. The goalkeeper was left with his head in his hands and looked like he wanted the stadium to swallow him up as the ball trickled under his body, taking a moment to get back to his feet after being consoled by his team-mates.
Moments later, Bayern doubled their advantage as Serge Gnabry got on the scoresheet after a stunning assist by another former City starlet Jamal Musiala as he dribbled past several United defenders.

The Cameroon stopper could do little to prevent Gnabry's effort, but his body language seemed to suggest that the initial error was still playing on his mind - having pulled his shirt over his face on a number of occasions following the mistake.
This was the latest error Onana has made since his £47.2million summer move from Inter Milan. He was also questioned for failing to come out and being beaten too easily by a dummy as Taiwo Awoniyi scored for Nottingham Forest against United in August.

Onana could have done more to prevent Brighton's third goal in their 3-1 win at United on Saturday, as Joao Pedro's shot flew past him despite being at a comfortable height for a goalkeeper.
In the build-up to the game, Onana told his team-mates to put the blame on him for goals that the Red Devils have been conceding - though it is likely that the finger will be pointed at the 27-year-old for his high-profile mistake.
“We’re in this together,” Onana said. “We win together, we lose together. Clean sheet - it’s for all of us. So when we concede goal, the responsibility is Andre Onana. My team-mates, they are working hard, and if they have to point a finger, they have to point it at me because I’m the goalkeeper.”
