Liverpool's 2022/23 transfers graded
Liverpool have been told that “now is the right time” to make a move for Nice star Khephren Thuram, who has recently been compared to Arsenal icon Patrick Vieira. The Reds are looking to overhaul their midfield under Jurgen Klopp and have already confirmed the signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton, but further reinforcements are deemed necessary.
Thuram has been named as one of Liverpool’s targets as they look to step up their transfer plans, with Nice expected to part ways with their 22-year-old star. The Reds may have lost another player of interest in Manu Kone, who left France under-21’s European Championship game on crutches on Wednesday, which may prompt Liverpool to intensify their efforts to sign Thuram.
Former Chelsea winger Florent Malouda has compared him to Vieira, who the young midfielder worked under during their time together at the Ligue 1 club, while praising his mentality and ability to play in a number of roles in midfield - something that would likely appeal to Liverpool.
“I know Khephren really well,” Malouda told Genting Casino. “I played with his father Lillian for France and his brother Marcus played at my former club: Guingamp. I’ve seen his game evolving.

“He has worked under Patrick Vieira, and I think that is a good comparison to make in terms of players that remind me of him. Khephren is tall, physically very strong and he has a lot of skill. He can sit in the midfield or play box-to-box.
“I think now is the right time to sign these players because their market value will increase. Khephren has received a few international call-ups with the main squad, so he will be thinking about the European Championships next season. I’m looking forward to seeing how he develops in the European Under 21 Championship.

The 23/24 home shirt for Liverpool pays homage to the past of the club, as well as collaborator Nike, with a strong 1970s influence. The iconic red, capped with bold white cuffs and collar really does invoke that classic Liverpool FC style while adding a cool retro touch
“He has a great mentality. With the family that he comes from, wow! This is greatness. His dad must be very, very proud to see both his sons playing with the national team and to be linked with some of the most important clubs in Europe.”
Whether the club have the funds to complete transfers for all three midfielders remains to be seen, having previously pulled out of the Jude Bellingham race due to financial concerns. However, Thuram and Szoboszlai would likely go some way to mending the issues that Liverpool faced last season as they look to get back in the Champions League.
