Chelsea interim boss Frank Lampard appeared to forget how many managers the club have gone through in this turbulent season at Stamford Bridge under their new ownership during his press conference on Friday afternoon. The Blues have been in freefall ever since Lampard took over from Graham Potter.
Chelsea have lost all six games under Lampard, scoring just twice in the process and they're at serious threat of falling further down the table. Relegation looks just about off the cards for now, but their current position reflects just how disastrous this campaign has been.
That's despite a promising start under their new owners after Thomas Tuchel was handed a huge transfer kitty last summer. There were good signs that Tuchel was going to be backed moving forward, but the German was unceremoniously sacked just days after the window closed.
Potter was then brought in as the Chelsea board felt he would be the best man to take the club forward for several years. But things failed to improve under the former Brighton boss with Chelsea eventually pulling the plug on Potter after their defeat to Aston Villa.

Lampard was brought in on an interim basis to try and steady the ship while the club looked at permanent replacements. Mauricio Pochettino appears to be the man Chelsea will turn to with the former Tottenham boss potentially taking over in the coming weeks.
But the whole managerial situation at Chelsea over the past 12 months has seemingly confused Lampard as to how many head coaches the club have actually gone through. "I think every situation is different," he said.
