Manchester United are conducting an investigation into Mason Greenwood's off-field conduct.

Mason Greenwood has reportedly told his friends that he does not expect to play for Manchester United ever again - and expects to resume his career outside of England. The forward has not been integrated back into the first team since charges were dropped against him in February.
Charges of rape and assault against Greenwood were dropped in February, though United took the decision to conduct an internal investigation into whether the academy product can return to the squad.
Following the announcement that the Crown Prosecution Service had dropped the charges after key witnesses withdrew from the investigation, United announced: “Manchester United notes the decision of the Crown Prosecution Service that all charges against Mason Greenwood have been dropped. The club will now conduct its own process before determining next steps. We will not make any further comment until that process is complete."
Despite that announcement coming over 12 weeks ago, a decision is said to be no closer. However, players from both the men’s and women’s squad - as well as their partners - are reportedly opposed to the idea of the 21-year-old returning to the team following his arrest in January 2022.

According to The Sun, the England international does not believe he will ever play for the Red Devils again and he has been telling his close friends that he expects to be on the move following three months of awaiting an answer on where his future lies, with a club outside of England cited as a likely option if he is sold.
A source reportedly told the report: “Mason believes he’s finished at United. He’s sat at home kicking his heels and very frustrated.
“He wants to get back to playing football but realises his situation is very complicated and it’s his own doing. He is determined to play football again but doesn’t think he’ll ever pull on a United shirt ever again.”
Greenwood is now said to be ‘resigned’ to trying to reignite his career abroad and believes that it is a likely scenario, with AC Milan the latest club to be linked with securing his signature following reports speculating that the Italian side had enquired about his availability and asked for clarity on what is a very unclear situation at Old Trafford.
United’s club sponsors reportedly want to avoid association with Greenwood and would prefer ties to be cut with the player, with Erik ten Hag in the dark as to whether the talented forward will ever play under his management.
