Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has shown that he is committed to improving in order to remain at Stamford Bridge over the summer.

Chelsea star Trevoh Chalobah appears to be in the best shape of his career as he battles to keep his spot in the Blues’ team. The defender is on the fringes of Graham Potter’s squad and could be offloaded over the summer to make space for further reinforcements.
Chalobah was thrown in at the deep end last season when injuries meant that Thomas Tuchel had to play the 23-year-old regularly, with the versatile defender relishing the opportunity. However, his game time has fizzled out under Potter, making just 16 league appearances for Chelsea and starting on just 11 occasions.
With another centre-back being targeted and loanees set to return – such as Levi Colwill and Ethan Ampadu – Chalobah could be sold at the end of the season to raise funds and create space in the dressing room. Nevertheless, he appears ready to fight for his spot at his boyhood club.
James Ralph, a football performance coach, has been working closely with Chalobah over the past six months and the results of more focused, physical training is unignorable. Ralph shared two photos of the defender to showcase the progress that he has made, captioning the post: “When Hypertrophy and Body Composition wasn’t even a goal.

"I know this picture will get a lot of traction, and rightly so - the progression that can be seen is phenomenal for a 'normal' person in six months, let alone an elite athlete IN season who does a lot of cardio and when Hypertrophy wasn’t even a thought.
“The reason I would want this post to get traction though is to highlight things you cannot simply see on a picture. Trevoh’s attitude is incredible - he (I don’t think he would mind me saying this) has in the past not been as consistent.

"As soon as he was, and was able to commit to the long-term plan, his results have skyrocketed on all fronts - strength, power and speed. Always a pleasure to work with, Trevoh has been through so much to get to where he is now. Multiple loans, played in various positions and often thrown in and excelling after periods of not being involved. Consistency pays off."
It remains to be seen whether Chalobah is given the chance to show that his hard work and commitment off the pitch has helped him improve as a player, or if Potter has already settled on rebuilding his defence at the expense of the academy graduate at the end of the season.
