Manchester United managed to fight back from two goals down to ensure the spoils were shared with Leeds United on Wednesday evening. The match, which was originally scheduled for September but was rescheduled following the Queen's death, saw Erik ten Hag's side pushed all the way by their traditional rivals but they eventually managed to deny the Yorkshire outfit a famous win on enemy turf.
Leeds stormed into the lead inside the opening 44 seconds of the match, with Wilfried Gnonto switching the ball onto his right foot before firing low and hard past David de Gea to give the visitors an early advantage. They doubled their lead shortly after the interval courtesy of an own goal from Red Devils defender Raphael Varane, who bundled the ball into his own net under pressure inside the area.
It looked as though Leeds were set to hold on for three massive points in their bid to secure Premier League survival at the end of the season, although the hosts had other ideas and managed to halve the deficit through Marcus Rashford just after the hour mark. Jadon Sancho went on to complete a remarkable comeback for United just a few moments later and it could have been even better for them if they had taken one of several gilt-edged chances to fall their way as the clock ticked down.

Thanks for joining us to follow live updates from Old Trafford, with Man Utd fighting back from two goals down to earn a point against Leeds in a thrilling clash between two historic rivals.
"We did a really good game," says Leeds forward Wilfried Gnonto at Old Trafford.
"We tried to stay together and fight together. We proved we have a top team. It's a little bit mixed emotions because we wanted to win.
"We always want to start games well. We want to show the opponents we're there and want to win. Of course it went well but we conceded two goals at the end. It's a shame.
"I don't really know, when we go into a game we try to do our best. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I don't think we did something differently.
"Today was a positive game. We showed we have character. From now on we try to show our character. We can beat anybody."
The referee brings an end to a rip-roaring game of football, which sees the points shared between Man Utd and Leeds in spite of a late surge for a winner by the hosts.
Erik ten Hag's men were knocking on the door as the clock ticked down but were unable to find an elusive third goal and have been forced to settle for a draw as a result.
However, they will be more than pleased with their resilience in the second half after fighting back from two goals behind to deny Leeds a famous win on enemy turf.
The two sides will meet again in just five days' time at Elland Road as part of a rare double-header in the Premier League, which will be an entertaining one if it is half as good as tonight's meeting at Old Trafford.

There are less than 10 minutes of play remaining at Old Trafford and the result is still on a knife-edge, although the hosts look more likely to grab an elusive winner as things stand.
Can Erik ten Hag's men snatch victory from the jaws of defeat at the expense of Leeds over the next few moments?
Jadon Sancho, who has missed a large chunk of the campaign but recently returned to the first-team fold, finds the back of the net for the Red Devils to equalise after coming on as a substitute.
Now it's Leeds on the ropes, with the hosts in full control and hunting for a third!

The Red Devils are pushing but are yet to find a breakthrough as things stand...
It was initially claimed by Crysencio Summerville but it's gone down as an own goal from Raphael Varane, who inadvertently bundled the ball into his own net to give the visitors some breathing space early in this second half.

Two huge misses from Alejandro Garnacho after Wilfried Gnonto's quick-fire opener sees the Red Devils needing to claw themselves back into the contest over the course of the second half.
They are struggling to get the ball up to Wout Weghorst, who has only touched the ball a handful of times, while the visitors have managed to stay ahead after drawing first blood inside just 44 seconds.
It's only half the battle, though, and they will be looking to stay resolute between now and the final whistle...

Half an hour has passed at Old Trafford and Leeds are still ahead by a single goal, although they have been forced into two early changes.
Pascal Struijk went down a few moments ago with what appeared to be a head injury and was promptly replaced by Junior Firpo, while Crysencio Summerville has also been introduced in place of Luis Sinisterra.
They are somewhat fortunate to remain in the lead, with Alejandro Garnacho failing to put the ball into the net despite rounding Illan Meslier after bursting into the area.
Will Leeds be able to avoid relinquishing their slender advantage before the half-time whistle blows?
Wilfried Gnonto opens the scoring for Leeds inside the first minute of the match!
He jinks in on his right foot after Bruno Fernandes loses possession and finds the bottom corner with a sweetly-struck effort from the edge of the area.
It's a dream start for the visitors and Old Trafford is stunned into near-silence!
"After his [Dalot's] return from the World Cup he struggled, but he also played some games, then he had a setback, but now he's ready," Erik ten Hag tells MUTV.
"In the last couple of days, he was in full team training, so he's ready to start. He [Sabitzer] is experienced, he understands football, he understands the way we want to play, so let's give him the opportunity and I'm confident that we have a good midfield and good team today. This is also an opportunity [for Garnacho].
"I've been really happy with him from the bench and I think we are doing this quite well this season, many players coming from the bench and Garnacho is probably the best example, he has such an impact, but he also wants to be a starter. He wants to play every minute and this is a good opportunity."
Leeds are currently without a permanent manager following the sacking of Jesse Marsch, who was relieved of his duties by the Yorkshire club on Monday after a run of poor results.
Chris Armas, who worked as a first-team coach at Old Trafford under Ralf Rangnick last season, will form part of a three-man caretaker team for the visitors this evening.
The 50-year-old from New York will be hoping to have the last laugh when the final whistle blows, with Leeds aiming to record their first win in the Premier League since early November.
