ten Hag previews Man Utd's FA Cup tie against Reading
We now have just four days remaining in the January transfer window and there is not long at all for Manchester United to bring in further reinforcements for Erik ten Hag ahead of the second half of the season.
The Red Devils have already added reserve goalkeeper Jack Butland and towering forward Wout Weghorst so far this month, but supporters will no doubt be hoping for at least one or two more new faces before the window slams shut on Tuesday.
United have been linked with a whole host of big names, but it seems unclear how much their unpopular Glazer owners are willing to spend. Indeed, the club may have no choice but to aim for bargains or loan deals rather than more expensive additions.
Ten Hag's side are in FA Cup action this evening against Reading, but behind the scenes it would be no surprise at all if the powers-that-be are working hard on trying to secure some last-minute transfer activity. So, will we see any movement throughout the day?

Ex-Manchester United star Louis Saha believes that his former side are ‘guaranteed’ to win the Premier League next season if they sign Harry Kane from Tottenham this summer.
He told Betfred: “If Harry Kane goes to Manchester United, then I can guarantee that he’s going to win the Premier League.
“You can’t ask for much more as he knows the Premier League and he’s scored so many goals for Tottenham and the national team.
“With Manchester United’s current set-up and their approach to games tactically, then having a forward that can come into that team and score you 25 goals a season will be the last piece of the puzzle.
“You need somebody who can do the big job and the big job is to score 25 to 30 goals.”

Recently, it emerged that Manchester United considered signing Antoine Griezmann back in the summer. And, at that time, a potential swap deal with Cristiano Ronaldo was touted.
The Red Devils were never open to that possibility, however, and they’ll undoubtedly be now regretting that decision given everything that’s gone on.
Manchester United have had a solid, if unspectacular, January transfer window so far. But with Erik ten Hag open to late signings, anything could happen.
So Express Sport has picked out three players who could join the Red Devils before the transfer window shuts on Tuesday.
Manchester United have been urged to go back in for Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann this month as the club’s third January signing, after Wout Weghorst and Jack Butland.
Ex-Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider: “Listen, we saw at the World Cup what a world-class player he [Griezmann] was.
"He was in the conversation for the player of the tournament. He has so much more to give. I wonder where he would play at Man United though because Fernandes plays in that eight role.
“Perhaps he could be an alternative to Weghorst or [Anthony] Martial up top."
Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has confirmed that the club are still yet to receive any bids for Jude Bellingham.
Speaking to reporters, he said: “From a sporting perspective, I would be more than happy if the boy stays with us for a long time. However, I cannot predict how it will develop in a few months.
“At the moment there are no talks about him. The boy is totally focused on football and on Dortmund. Last weekend he showed great passion and focus on the pitch, so we cannot replace him at all at the moment.”
United have been one of the clubs interested in a move for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.
However, Arsenal are believed to have stolen a march, and are now desperate to sign the player in the coming days.
Caicedo himself is clearly keen to leave too, and posted a social media statement on Friday night which read: "My dream always to be the most decorated player in the history of Ecuador. I am proud to be able to bring in a record transfer fee for Brighton which would allow them to reinvest it and help the club continue to be successful."
It's not just incomings United are focusing on, with a number of players set to depart before Tuesday night.
Robbie Savage's son Charlie is join Forest Green Rovers on loan until the end of the season in what will no doubt allow him to gain valuable minutes on the pitch.
And fellow youngsters Charlie McNeill, Di'Shon Bernard and Bjord Hardley could also secure loan exits, according to The Sun.
United have been linked with a move for experienced Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus.
The 33-year-old is out of contract in the summer, and could be a useful signing on a free transfer.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano told The United Stand: "I'm told it's true that they had some conversations with the agents of Marco Reus.
"He's one of the players they considered, they spoke to, so it's true that they had some conversations, but at the same time, I'm told that at the moment, it's not a negotiation."
Hello, and welcome to Express Sport's live coverage of Manchester United in the January transfer window.
We really are approaching the final stages of the month now, and time is against the Red Devils if they wish to make at least one more signing for Erik ten Hag.
But as we know well, you can never rule out a last-minute purchase. Here's hoping for some drama over the coming days.
