England are looking to break the ITV curse (Image: GETTY)
England fans on social media are fearful that the Three Lions could be set to lose to Senegal this weekend - solely because the game is being shown on ITV. Going by history, the Three Lions seemingly perform better statistically when their World Cup matches are shown on BBC One but unfortunately the omen will not be in play on Sunday when they play their first knockout match in Qatar.

@MartinPresland fears England could be out, writing: "England's next game is on ITV. That's us out on Sunday then!!"
"Why do we have to be on ITV for the 2nd round???? That channel is a curse #WALENG," added @SaintsWarfield.
England's poor performance against the USA - that finished in a 0-0 draw - was also shown on ITV.
BBC One has shown both of England's convincing wins in Qatar so far as the Three Lions thrashed Iran and Wales.
Southgate is under no illusions that Senegal will present a difficult challenge as England look to make the next step in Doha.
"I haven't been able to see games yet. I saw them play Iran in September," he said.
"We know a few of the individuals, some big players playing in big leagues. We know that we'll be favourites but we're playing a dangerous team."
England will be given Wednesday off before returning to training on Thursday to begin preparations for the last 16 contest.
