Erik ten Hag reviews Man Utd's win v West Ham
Manchester United still admire both Frenkie de Jong and Jude Bellingham, even though they missed out on the pair both this summer and in 2020 respectively. However, it’s surprising the Red Devils aren’t among the suitors for Youri Tielemans at present. He’d be available for less than £30million and is proven in the Premier League, meaning he’s certainly a player worthy of consideration…
Manchester United have seen Casemiro and Christian Eriksen shine in the middle of the park so far this season following their summer moves from Real Madrid and Brentford.
But Erik ten Hag, it seems, is on the lookout for yet another midfielder as the January transfer window creeps closer.
The Dutchman hasn’t totally given up on De Jong, who he spent most of the summer pursuing.
That said, it still appears far likelier the Netherlands international will end up staying at Barcelona - especially given how he’s now finally a regular in Xavi’s side.
It’s also been claimed United are keen on Bellingham, nearly three years after the midfielder turned them down when he was strutting his stuff at Birmingham.

Due to the fact his contract is winding down, it’s believed Leicester would be open to securing a cut-price fee for their midfield maestro.
They wanted £30m to £40m back in the summer but they’re now inclined to accept lower, in order to avoid losing Tielemans for nothing.
United need squad depth, which is part of the reason Ten Hag is looking for another player who can pull the strings and make things happen in the summer.
Fred has his uses but remains infuriatingly inconsistent.
Donny van de Beek is injury-prone and, after more than two years at Old Trafford, has been restricted to just four Premier League starts in that time period.

And Scott McTominay remains prone to the odd mistake, something that was evident when he conceded a late penalty in their recent 1-1 draw with Chelsea.
Tielemans would add quality to a United midfield that still needs it.
And any potential arrival would allow Ten Hag to grant the likes of Casemiro and Eriksen a rest when he feels the duo need it.
Bargain transfers haven’t always been a thing at United in recent years, especially with the club guilty of overspending in the time since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.
But Tielemans is a top performer, something he’s proven time and time again at Leicester.
