MANCHESTER UNITED boss Sir Alex Ferguson admits that the fate of the Premier League title is now in Chelsea’s hands following a shattering 2-1 defeat against Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Alex Ferguson says it's up to Chelsea to lose the Premier League title now
Old Trafford transfer target Joe Cole got the first, then a first ever Premier League goal against Alex Ferguson’s team for Didier Drogba saw Chelsea leapfrog United at the top of the table and left Sir Alex saying:
“Chelsea are favourites now, there is no question about that. Five games left and they are two points ahead and four goals better off on goal to the summit difference. They are in the driving seat, there is no doubt about that.
“I am certain that we can respond but we could win our next five games and not win the league. If Chelsea
win their next five games they have won the league.”
Ferguson believes that Chelsea received a helping hand towards the summit through referee Mike Dean and linesman Simon Beck. The United manager insisted:
“Didier Drogba was offside for his goal.
“With a game of this magnitude you need quality officials. We didn’t get them I’m afraid. It was a poor, poor performance.
“That is twice we have lost out to refereeing decisi ons against Chelsea this season.
