Kuqi hits Palace
Crystal Palace 0, Swansea 1
SHEFKI KUQI made a memorable return to Crystal Palace by scoring the winner for his new club Swansea.
Towering Finnish international Kuqi put the visitors into a 14th-minute lead with his first goal on his first start when he steered Andrea Orlandi’s header past former team-mate Julian Speroni.
Having spent three years at the south London club, Kuqi refused to celebrate as he was mobbed by his Welsh team-mates.
Neil Warnock’s brave Palace side, who are still reeling from being forced into administration, were unable to match the classy touches and movement of their promotion-hunting visitors.
Palace substitute Kieran Djilali almost made an instant impact but fired over from Calvin Andrew’s clever flick-on with an hour gone.
