Newcastle have reignited interest in Fiorentina star Nikola Milenkovic as they eye late signings in the January transfer window, according to reports. Eddie Howe’s side are currently battling to stay in the Premier League. And they continue to chase a deal for Diego Carlos, despite Sevilla insisting he’s not for sale.
Newcastle have the finances to sign any player in the world.
The Toon have wasted no time getting their revolution started, with Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood arriving from Atletico Madrid and Burnley respectively.
But Newcastle are hoping to recruit more players before the transfer window slams shut as they battle to stay in the Premier League.
According to the Daily Mail, Milenkovic has been on and off Newcastle’s shortlist so far.
Yet they’ve now reignited interest in the Serbia international, who has been a consistent performer for Fiorentina in recent years.

Speaking after his side’s 1-0 win over Leeds, meanwhile, Howe hailed new signings Wood and Trippier for the impact they’ve made at the club so far.
“I’ve always said from day one I back the players we have, regardless of who we recruit,” said Howe.
“But I think today you saw the power of recruitment.
“Looking at Chris Wood and Kieran Trippier, I thought they were magnificent for the team.
“They made huge contributions to the match and that’s the power. If you can get it right I think you can elevate the team and help the team to greater heights.

“We’re still looking to do that, but I do back the players that we have here already.”
Howe also felt Newcastle’s win over Leeds can act as a turning point in their season.
“Today we learnt that there’s a resilience in the team, the team were fighting for each other,” he added.
“They’re fighting for the club and they have belief that we’re not dead and buried and that there’s more to come.
“I thought it was a big, big match for us and hopefully it can transform our season.”
