That deal is close to £50,000-a-week less than Lacazette's current contract at Arsenal, which is set to expire at the end of the season.
But while the money offered by Newcastle is less than his current terms, that isn't reportedly the reason Lacazette is reluctant to move to the north east.
The report states that Lacazette doesn't fancy rolling the dice at Newcastle and potentially be dragged down into the Championship.
And that is Newcastle's biggest problem in the final two weeks of the transfer window.
Getting Trippier was a huge coup for Newcastle while Wood was signed by Newcastle paying over the odds to activate his release clause.
Clubs all over Europe know of Newcastle's new-found riches and that may well come into play in negotiations.
