Reports suggest that senior players are having a growing influence on proceedings.
Cristiano Ronaldo took it upon himself to give a strong team talk to his team-mates at half time of the 3-2 comeback win over Atalanta on Wednesday, while Bruno Fernandes also told the United boss to 'change tactics' during the break.
The Sun says the mood in the dressing room has remained the same despite the victory over the Italian side easing pressure on Solskjaer.
Liverpool are favourites heading to Old Trafford and won this fixture 4-2 last season.
The Reds have won the Premier League and Champions League in the time United have gone trophyless.
But Solskjaer believes his side are making the right steps to leapfrog their rivals in the coming years.
“It’s a massive rivalry because of the history of the two clubs,” Solskjaer said.
“As you say, the amount of titles and trophies these two clubs have won, and the history between us, the two cities, the football clubs, it’s a rivalry you have to embrace.
