Newcastle fans 'paying tribute' to Saudi owners says reporter
Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand believes there is a possibility that Jurgen Klopp leaves Liverpool a year before his current contract ends in a move which may affect Newcastle. The Magpies are currently searching for their next manager and interim boss Graeme Jones confirmed this week that he's been told he will be in charge next week against Chelsea.
It suggests that Newcastle are yet to decide on who they want to bring in as Steve Bruce's successor.
Reports have indicated that Newcastle are looking to make an appointment with a view for the long term.
Steven Gerrard is being tipped as a potential candidate, although he indicated after Ranger's 2-0 win over Brondby in the Europa League that he is happy where he is.
The Liverpool icon has impressed since taking over at Rangers, ending Celtic's dominance in the Scottish Premiership last season.

And it's been suggested that Newcastle's owners want to bring in a star name who could help lead the club in their new direction.
Ferdinand though believes Gerrard is holding out for the Liverpool job.
Both Klopp and Gerrard are out of contract in 2024 with many expecting the latter to takeover at Anfield in three years.
However, Ferdinand suggests that role may become vacant in 2023 if Klopp decides to walk a year early and that may be in Gerrard's thinking when looking at Newcastle.

"Even Steven Gerrard, I see his name mentioned alongside the job as well," Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel.
"I can’t see someone like him going there because I just feel that his eyes are on Liverpool.
“How much longer can Klopp stay at Liverpool?
“I mean, Klopp could be there for five more years, but easily you could see him one day, because of the character he seems to be, turn around in 18 months and say, ‘Listen, this is me.’
