Liverpool 'hopeful' of agreeing Mohamed Salah contract as FSG devise plan to reward star
Mohamed Salah has been one of Liverpool's standout players ever since his move from Roma in 2017.

Mohamed Salah has been one of Liverpool's key performers for a number of years and the club will be desperate to keep hold of their star man. Reds chiefs will however need to act quickly, with just 20 months remaining on the forward's contract.
It is claimed that Salah, whose deal expires in 2023, is seeking a wage hike to take him up to between £300,000 and £380,000-per-week so he can match the earnings of Cristiano Ronaldo and Kevin De Bruyne, who are the highest paid players in the Premier League.
The Manchester United and City stars both pocket an eye-watering £380,000 a week at their clubs, respectively.
Jamie Carragher understands that Liverpool haven't got the same financial capabilities as their Manchester rivals, but urged them to resolve Salah's contract situation by making him a lucrative offer because he is one the best players in the world.
“Liverpool cannot afford to let his contract situation drag on, with the threat they could lose him in the next two years," Carragher said.

“I know the situation Liverpool are in. They don't have the finances of Manchester City. But right now, Salah is playing as well as anyone in the world.
“He is one of the greatest goalscorers this club has ever seen, and it's imperative that at his peak he's still scoring goals in the red shirt of Liverpool."
However, Liverpool's owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) are more invested in acquiring younger players rather than retaining experienced stars.
But they did make an exception this summer by tieing down 31-year-old Jordan Henderson to a new four-year deal, meaning he'll stay at the club until he's 35.
Salah is approaching his 30s but Carragher believes his age should not be an issue.
He added: “This is a guy who really looks after himself, and you can see that when he takes his top off when he scores a goal.
'This lad's got a lot in him as he goes into his 30s.”
FSG are expected to devise a plan to reward the red-hot Salah, who scored a sensational goal in the 2-2 draw against Manchester City on the weekend, and are said to be 'hopeful' of extending his contract.
