Tottenham will be delighted with their summer business, particularly given they managed to keep their talismanic figure Harry Kane after weeks upon weeks of intense speculation. Reluctantly, Kane decided to stay put in north London after Daniel Levy continued to play hardball with Manchester City during negotiations before he eventually stopped picking up the phone.

Technical director Fabio Paratici was at the heart of the club's transfer business and the Italian managed to secure the services of five new signings.
Pierluigi Gollini, Bryan Gil, Cristian Romero, Pape Matar Sarr and Emerson Royal all arrived through the door although young midfielder Sarr will spend the rest of the season on loan at Metz.
Yet for all Paratici's good work, there were still several signings he was not able to get over the line.
Spurs ideally wanted a backup striker to replace Carlos Vinicius and another centre-back to provide cover.

While the free-agent market may not jump out at most clubs, there are still some viable options waiting to be snapped up, that could still be of use.
With Tottenham in need of some additional depth at centre-back for the UEFA Conference League, Brazilian defender Jemerson is one player who could come in handy.
The 29-year-old is best known for his four-year stint with Monaco, where he won Ligue 1 in 2017 and helped the club reach the Champions League semi-finals.
Jemerson is currently without a club after leaving Brazilian side Corinthians but his experience could be worth having around the camp, which now has several South American players.
Secondly, Eliaquim Mangala is also up for grabs following his departure from Valencia.
The Frenchman was once the most expensive defender in British history after leaked documents revealed he actually signed for City for £42million in 2014 (the fee was initially reported at £32m).
Mangala has also played in the Premier League with Everton but has spent the past two seasons at Valencia in Spain, before falling off the map.
Tottenham also need some cover in attack and one player that could do the job is former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge.
He's been training with Real Mallorca in Spain and last played for Trabzonspor in Turkey after leaving Anfield.
Sturridge has been keeping himself in shape and could be perfect for the Conference League matches, allowing Harry Kane to rest.

Former Spurs man Fernando Llorente is also available but at 36, he is now getting on, meaning Sturridge is the more attractive option.
Finally, Jose Mourinho had three senior goalkeepers within his senior set-up last year and now there is only two in the form of Hugo Lloris and Gollini.
Paulo Gazzaniga has joined Fulham, while Joe Hart headed to Celtic meaning Spurs could do with another shot-stopper to keep things competitive on the training ground in Enfield.
One man who knows how to do that is Sergio Romero, who helped keep the likes of David de Gea and Dean Henderson on their toes during his time at Manchester United.
Romero is clearly unlikely to play but having three goalkeepers who are ready to drive the standards on the training field can help them get the best from one another.
