Manchester United would prefer to sign a midfielder over a right-back before the transfer window slams shut on August 31, reports say. John Murtough has brokered deals for Tom Heaton, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane so far. But, despite that, the Red Devils are eyeing more reinforcements as they look to win the Premier League title.
Manchester United got their Premier League campaign off to a fine start on Saturday.
Though Luke Ayling scored a cracker for Leeds, it wasn’t enough with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side running riot.
It was like watching the United of old as they regularly cut through Marcelo Bielsa’s side, with Bruno Fernandes netting a hat-trick and further strikes from Mason Greenwood and Fred making for a good afternoon.
Before that match, Solskjaer addressed potential transfers and said anything extra ‘would be a bonus’.
“Anything from now is a bonus," said the 48-year-old.

"I have to say that with the two signings we've got, we've strengthened where we wanted to strengthen.
"Let's see what happens. You never know in football. Anything can happen, ins and outs."
And ESPN have stated that United’s preference would be a midfielder, instead of a right-back.
They’ve been linked with Kieran Trippier and, though interest remains, it’s unlikely the Atletico Madrid star will make the move.
When it comes to midfielders, several names are under consideration.

Man Utd set Kane price by Tottenham chief Levy ‘convinced’
Ruben Neves has sparkled for Wolves over the past three years and, with the Premier League side open to letting him go, a move to Old Trafford is a possibility.
United have discussed Eduardo Camavinga with the Rennes star’s representatives but, at the current moment in time, they believe he prefers a move to Real Madrid.
And they’ve been tipped to land Saul Niguez just about every year since the days where David Moyes ruled the roost.
Whether United are actually able to bolster their midfield remains to be seen.
But more additions would certainly boost their chances of title glory, with the club missing out on the prize ever since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.

Speaking recently, meanwhile, former United star Paul Parker backed Yves Bisssouma to join the club.
And he feels the Red Devils should jettison Paul Pogba in order for that to happen.
"I'd let him go and get as much money as they can for him," Parker told The Sun discussing Pogba.
"The thing with Pogba is you don't know what you're getting, so I'd bring in someone who you know has a better chance of making a difference week in, week out.
"So let him go and if he joins PSG and does great, then you have to say it's because that suits him.
"And when you sell Pogba, you go and get Yves Bissouma from Brighton, who is a great holding player, good feet in tight areas.
"You'd get someone far more consistent, Brighton would get good value and Bissouma would be desperate to show he could make a difference at a club like United."
United are next in action against Southampton next Sunday.
And they’ll be hoping for a repeat of what happened last term when the fixture gets under way.
United found themselves trailing 2-0 before Edinson Cavani came off the bench to secure a 3-2 victory with an outstanding brace.
