Transfers: Arsenal suffer blow as Rice gives Chelsea boost
Arsenal have been crying out for a creative midfielder since Mesut Ozil went off the boil and consequently left the club, and Mikel Arteta is hoping to inject creativity into his squad this summer. Express Sport takes a look at five players who could finally fill Ozil's shoes.
This is by far the cheapest of the five options but Arsenal could put all of their faith in youngster Emile Smith Rowe.
The 20-year-old became a permanent figure in the Gunners team from November last season and he is expected to kick on this term.
Smith Rowe will hit the ground running as he is already accustomed to Arteta's style of play.
He will also save the north London club millions so they can strengthen other areas of the squad.
However, that has not stopped Arteta and Edu from browsing the market for a new No 10.

James Maddison
Arsenal are very keen admirers of the Leicester playmaker but are put off by his extortionate price tag.
Football.london report that the Foxes are demanding £60million, which would make him the Gunners' second most expensive signing of all time, behind Nicolas Pepe.
Maddison scored eight goals and registered six assists last season but his price tag may prove problematic.
Arsenal are about to splash £50m on Brighton defender Ben White so would have to raise funds if they were to move for Maddison.
