Man Utd: Solskjaer hints at future role for Lingard
Manchester United are reportedly set to offer Jesse Lingard a new contract. The 28-year-old did not make a single Premier League appearance for the Red Devils last season and he made the move to West Ham United on loan in January.
Under former boss David Moyes, Lingard starred for the Hammers, netting nine goals and providing five assists in 16 appearances in all competitions.
Speaking back in May, Moyes said he was "hopeful" that West Ham could make Lingard's loan move a permanent one.
He said: "I couldn't say any more than I'm hopeful Jesse might want to come here, that's up to Manchester United, but he's been a positive signing."
However, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has suggested that Lingard still has a future at Old Trafford, saying in April: "Selfishly, we could have kept him because he's always got a part to play.

"He's a fantastic lad around the place, Man United through and through, never once did he moan or cause me a problem, he just worked really hard.
He deserved a chance to play for more football - that's why we let him go to West Ham because he deserves a chance for what he's done throughout his life for Man United.
Of course, we [will] welcome him back.
Now, according to a report from theDaily Star, United are set to offer Lingard a three-year extension on his current deal.

At the moment, Lingard has one year remaining on his £110,000-a-week contract and United are willing to offer him a new three-year deal worth £130,000-a-week.
The report states that West Ham were already struggling to meet United's £25m asking price and to match Lingard's current wages.
However, the midfielder may yet decide against staying at Old Trafford as he has already stated that regular minutes will be the key factor in deciding his future.
Speaking earlier this month, Lingard told Sky Sports: "Regular football is the most important thing for me.
