Euro 2020: England and Scotland set for final group games
AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho has fired criticism towards two players from his former clubs after England's disappointing 0-0 draw against Scotland. The ex-Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur boss wasn't happy with what he saw from Gareth Southgate's full-backs on Friday.
England started the game with Reece James on the right and Luke Shaw on the left side of the defence.
However, whilst the latter showed sparks of attacking intent, both players struggled to create chances as the hosts failed to break Scotland down at Wembley Stadium.
Mourinho didn't manage James at Chelsea, but the Portuguese's issues with Shaw at United were widely documented.
The former United manager would regularly publicly criticise Shaw, who was low in his pecking order and almost left the club because of it.
Since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's arrival, the 25-year-old has undergone a resurgence at Old Trafford and was named in the 2020/21 PFA Team of the Season.

However, Mourinho's criticism has flooded through to his coverage of this summer's European Championship.
Speaking to talkSPORT, he explained his disappointment with both James and Shaw's attacking output in a game where England needed it.
"The most important thing is the confidence of players," Mourinho explained.
"I don't believe at all that, for example, when Gareth [Southgate] decided to play the last game with James and Shaw; I don't believe he told them 'don't attack, stay on the line of the four, be cautious.'

"I don't believe that. To do that, you do that with other players. To do that, then you play Ben White in defence alongside the Mings and Stones as well.
"I think the confidence of the players [is important]. James and Shaw are attacking and fast players.
"Normally, they go forward and create. They arrive in the box and create. They didn't against Scotland.
"They stayed very, very quiet. They didn't make mistakes. But offensively they were poor."
