Jadon Sancho: Dortmund star's future discussed by experts
Mason Greenwood is, without doubt, the brightest emerging talent at Old Trafford - but his place in the Manchester United side may now be thrown into question if the club completes a deal for Jadon Sancho. The Borussia Dortmund winger has been on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's shortlist for well over a year but now the move could finally be about to happen...
United are in talks with Dortmund, who have dropped their valuation to around £80m and there is optimism an agreement with be reached within the next few weeks.
Yet while this is a signing that will be gratefully received by Red Devils fans, it isn't the answer to their problems.
A centre-back should be top of the agenda but it appears United want to prioritise signing Sancho first.
But where does that leave star boy Greenwood? He initially burst onto the scene as a striker, where he plied his trade during his academy days.

His chances of playing through the middle are also slim though after Edinson Cavani signed a one-year contract extension.
Speaking last summer, Gary Neville claimed Sancho's arrival would not disrupt Greenwood's progression.
"You can sign a player in the same position without disrespecting that player if he's got the right attitude," Neville told Webby & O'Neill.
"For me, the idea that we get a right-winger in doesn't mean we're going to see Mason Greenwood sat in the stands."
Granted, there is a long season ahead and with United keen on fighting on all fronts, the utilisation of their full squad will be key.

Greenwood needs to play though and as proved in the final stretch of the season, the teenager is at his best when he's got rhythm.
He hit seven Premier League goals in six matches during April and May, form that shows just how good he could really be for United.
While Sancho may help keep Greenwood on his toes, it is certainly likely to disrupt his momentum at the club.
Greenwood is unlikely to be United's main No 9 at just 19 and Sancho's arrival looks set to cause him a huge headache, though not a bad problem to have.
It just begs the question of whether United are better of investing the Sancho money somewhere else: Centre-back or central midfield...
