Drayton Manor's mystic meerkats predict Euro 2020 match result
The European Championships are finally upon us, with Italy welcoming Turkey in the tournament’s opening game with more than 15,000 fans in attendance at theStadioOlimpico.
There were few dry eyes in the stadium after Andre Bocelli belted out Nessun Dorma as part of the competition’s opening ceremony.
However, teary eyed nostalgia was quickly replaced with confusion among football fans everywhere after a bizarre pre-match stunt.

His sentiments were echoed by other football fans who loved the concept, @ellis_platten explaining: “I’m well and truly HERE for remote control deliveries of footballs.
“Make it the norm NOW.”
Some fans were not as keen on the idea, with @jimwaterson writing: “That’s it, the tournament has peaked, someone managed to create a dumb remote-control sponsored car for the ball.”
Other football fans couldn’t quite make their mind up, with the overriding emotion clearly one of shock, with one user taking to twitter to say: “OH MY GOD THE BALL IS COMING ON IN A REMOTE-CONTROL CAR.”
It has not yet been confirmed whether the stunt will be a regular fixture in the tournament, or whether it was simply part of the opening game celebrations.
Italy are one of a number of sides within the tournament fortunate enough to play their opening game on home turf, with England following suit with their clash against Croatia on Sunday at Wembley.
