Manchester United’s win over Wolves at Molineux not only ensured their highest league finish since 2018, it also saw them match an incredible Premier League record previously set by Arsenal. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer named a much-changed side for the final domestic match of the season, with an eye on Wednesday’s Europa League final.

Mike Dean had initially not awarded the spot-kick when Donny van de Beek was felled by Romain Saiss, but overturned his decision after a VAR review.
Despite having much of the possession after the break, Wolves failed to break down United, leaving Solskjaer’s men to celebrate their 21st win of the season.
Remarkably, 12 of those victories have come away from home, with draws in their other seven away matches meaning they have gone the season unbeaten when not playing at Old Trafford.
They’ve become just the fourth team in the history of English football to do so in the top-flight and the third Premier League side to achieve the feat.

Preston North End were the first team to go unbeaten away from home, in the invincible season in the 1888/1889 campaign.
There was then a 113-year gap before the next team went an entire top-flight season unbeaten, with Arsenal the team to do so in 2001/2002.
That was Arsene Wenger’s second Premier League title win, with the Gunners being victorious in 14 of their away matches that term.
Supporters did not have to wait long for the third team to match the incredible feat, with Arsenal unbeaten again in their famous Invincibles campaign in 2003/2004.

That was their last league title win, with Wenger’s side going unbeaten both home and away across their 38 matches.
The Gunners won 11 of their away games that campaign to become the first Premier League team to finish a season unbeaten.
17 years after Arsenal matched the stunning away record, United have done so as well, picking up more away wins than the Invincible Gunners in the process.
But United are also the first team to go a top-flight season unbeaten and not also win the league title, with Manchester City finishing 12 points ahead of them.
