Arsenal: Arteta's defiant message to critics after tough season
Arsenal have identified three main targets heading into the transfer window and Mikel Arteta is confident that the club's failure to secure European football next season will not stop them landing the names on their shortlist. The Gunners have plenty of work to do when the transfer window opens and behind the scenes, technical director Edu and Arteta are already beginning to sound out the players they want to bring through the door.

Those include goalkeeper Bernd Leno, Hector Bellerin and Alexandre Lacazette who all have two years remaining on their contracts.
Leno has made it clear that he would be open to a new challenge while there is interest from Europe in both Bellerin and Lacazette respectively.
David Luiz will also depart at the end of the season at the end of his deal.
Furthermore, the future of Granit Xhaka is also up in the air.

Arteta has revealed there have been a number of positive talks with transfer targets in recent times ahead of the window.
“Every player that we have been linked with, or we had some communication with, I haven’t seen one that was refusing to come here," he said.
“[It’s] completely the opposite. Everybody is very willing to join our club.”
