Mourinho secures quick return to management with Roma
Jose Mourinho allegedly received the call from Roma just five days after his sacking at Tottenham, meaning the surprise announcement was just under two weeks in the making. Roma confirmed yesterday that Mourinho would be taking over from Paulo Fonseca at the end of the current season.
Supporters and the media were confused by the unexpected nature of Roma's tweet, which confirmed that they'd reached an agreement with Mourinho.
The former Spurs boss has wasted no time in jumping back into management, although he will be given several months to rest and prepare for his new project.
It was just over two weeks ago that Daniel Levy informed him that his time was up in north London.
And according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Mourinho received a call just five days later from his new club before a secret meeting was held with the Giallorossi.

Mourinho even sported a new Roma phone case yesterday on social media, as he proudly confirmed his next venture.
Speaking on Instagram, he paid tribute to the club's supporters and the board's ambition to drive Roma forward to the summit of Italian football.
"I thank the Friedkin family for choosing me to lead this great club and for making me part of their vision," he said.
"After comparing myself with the property and with Tiago Pinto I immediately understood how high the ambition of this society is.
