Liverpool: Carragher discusses need for Firmino upgrade
Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher raised some eyebrows for his commentary on Roberto Firmino in the first half of the Reds' fixture against Aston Villa on Saturday. Firmino has come under criticism this season for his lack of goals and Carragher has been one of his biggest critics.
The former Reds centre-back recently said that Firmino was "fortunate" to be starting for Liverpool due to his poor form this season.
The Brazilian was once again in the starting line-up on Saturday though for the fixture against Villa, lining up alongside Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota.
Firmino's role at Liverpool has often seen him drop deep and help start the offence.
He's racked up an impressive highlight reel with his silky footwork and flair on the ball.
Another wrote: "Carragher got a bit too excited there over that Firmino bring down."
A third tweeted: "Is Carragher ok? Firmino with the most bog standard touch with zero pressure. Freak."
A fourth posted: "That Firmino touch was good but Carragher celebrating it like it’s his son."
Another joked: "Think Carra needs a change of attire after that touch by Firmino."
