Man Utd: Solskjaer impressed with McTominay's brace
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is safe until the summer, according to former Leeds and Southampton star Carlton Palmer. The Norwegian has been tipped for the sack throughout the campaign but, despite that, has steered the club to third in the Premier League table. And though Mauricio Pochettino remains free following his departure from Tottenham in October 2019, it seems unlikely he’ll be taking over at Old Trafford any time soon.

“Well, the way they’re talking is that Solskjaer is safe until the summer,” he told Footballfancast.
“Don’t get me wrong, even with Ole being there, they’ll still be there or thereabouts finishing in the top four, because they’ve got talented individuals.
“But that’s not good enough for Manchester United.
“They should be challenging for the league and they’re going to be a long way off from that.
“Finishing in the top four doesn’t mean anything now. I mean, if you finish behind Liverpool, you’re going to be 20 points behind in second or third place.”
Solskjaer insisted after his side’s 6-2 victory over Leeds on Sunday that it was too early to talk about his side potentially being crowned champions come May.
"We found a way of getting them going, Just imagine if there were 75,000 people in, it would have gone down in history as one of the great performances against Leeds.
"We had to earn the right by running as much as them, that's a challenge.
“It could have been 12-4! It's that kind of game.
"I enjoyed it, it was frantic, hectic. No matter what the score is they have a certain attitude or style, if they are 5-0 up or down.
"We are not even at the halfway point, the league position is not something we look at we look at the improvement of the team.
"Now we are getting fitter and stronger. Our fans needed that one."
