Amad Diallo demonstrates skills in training before Man Utd move
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is torn over what to do with Amad Diallo, reports say. The Atalanta youngster is poised to join the Red Devils officially when the transfer window reopens in the New Year. Yet while he’s caught the eye with some bright displays this term, it seems first-team football isn’t guaranteed at Old Trafford.
United announced they’d agreed a £37million fee with Atalanta for Diallo back on transfer deadline day.
They said in a statement: “Manchester United have reached an agreement with Atalanta for the future transfer of Amad Diallo, one of the most exciting young prospects in Italian football.
“The 18-year-old Ivorian right-winger has been on the radar of United scouts since 2016, when he was spotted playing at Under-15 level, and the club have been tracking his progress since.
“Diallo scored on his Serie A debut in the first of three first-team appearances last season, after rising through the youth ranks at Atalanta.
“He will join United at a later date, subject to medical, personal terms and work permit.”

United are believed to have now secured a work permit for Diallo.
Yet 90min.com claim Solskjaer is currently torn over whether to involve the teenager with the first-team squad or let him prove himself at youth level first.
The Red Devils have been mindful when it comes to Facundo Pellistri, another youngster who joined back in the summer.
Pellistri has been allowed to shine at youth level and is expected to get some first team minutes under his belt in the coming weeks, especially in the club competitions.
United think both players have a bright future ahead.
But it seems Diallo might have to wait a little while to show what he’s all about over in the Premier League.
Solskjaer opened up on the pair prior to his side’s Premier League showdown with Leeds on Sunday, with the Norwegian saying: "We felt Facundo would benefit [from time in the Under-23s].
"He started training with the first-team – he did well but we couldn’t give him game-time so we thought we’d give him a run of games in the [Under] 23s and he’s benefited from that.
"His confidence has been given a boost. He’s shown in all the games that he can impact the game.
"With Amad, hopefully we can get him in and we’ll see how the squad looks and how he looks and how he settles as soon as possible.
