Tottenham have reportedly drawn up plans to try and go after Milan Skriniar again when the transfer window opens, but they need a few things to happen before a deal can take place. Spurs were one of the busiest Premier League clubs in the transfer window as Jose Mourinho was given the opportunity to build his own squad.
But Football Insider claim Tottenham remain interested in Skriniar ahead of the January window, despite having four central defenders at the club.
The report states that Spurs are keeping tabs on the defender, who Mourinho is said to be keen on bringing to the club.
However, Tottenham will reportedly be unable to sign the centre-back if Inter ask for £40m again.
It is stated that for a deal to take place, the Serie A side will need to reduce their asking price.

But they will also likely need to offload Sanchez in the January transfer window, who has dropped down the pecking order since the 3-3 draw against West Ham in October.
The Colombia international was previously seen as Tottenham's go-to centre-back option when fit, but he's not featured in the last five Premier League matches.
Sanchez joined Tottenham back in 2017 for what was previously a club-record transfer.
At 24 years of age, if he is made available then there will likely be plenty of suitors.
