Man Utd: Mason Greenwood 'has to put the work in' says Dunn
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is copying a tactic regularly used by Sir Alex Ferguson to try and avoid the sack at Old Trafford. Rumours have been circling since before the international break that Mauricio Pochettino is waiting in the wings to take over in the dugout. And they’re unlikely to subside unless the Red Devils embark on a winning run.
United have got off to an inconsistent start with a loss to Crystal Palace, a narrow win over Brighton and a hammering at the hands of Tottenham.
But since the international break things have improved with victories over Newcastle and PSG as well as a 0-0 draw with Chelsea in the Premier League.
It doesn't get any easier with a Champions League clash against RB Leipzig and Premier League showdown with Arsenal this week, two games that could make or break Solskjaer’s reign.
The 47-year-old has made a key decision which has helped United turn things around - the dropping of World Cup winner Paul Pogba.
The midfielder has struggled to make an impact playing behind Bruno Fernandes since the season started and the Red Devils manager did not shy away from benching the former Juventus man as a result.

Fred and Scott McTominay have been the two sitting midfielders leading to a much better-balanced team.
Solskjaer seems to have copied something Sir Alex Ferguson became famous for during his legendary time at Old Trafford.
Fergie famously dropped Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs and David Beckham at various points.
With Rooney, he was never afraid to leave the Derby star on the bench. He famously omitted the England international from the squad for a 3-2 defeat to Blackburn on New Years Eve in 2011 after the striker had held a party the night before.
The Scotsman would even go on to sell Beckham to Real Madrid, believing his exploits off the pitch were hampering his performance on it, and let Jaap Stam leave when he was seemingly at the peak of his powers.

He exclaimed on Sky Sports: "How, after four years at Manchester United, are you still talking about finding Pogba's best position and can Ole get more out of him, can he add discipline to his game?
"He's been there for four years!
"If he's as good as you think or that Ole can get more out of him, why are we still having these conversations now, almost hoping or believing he can be something he hasn't shown for four years? I don't understand."
Pogba will get his chances for United but with Donny van de Beek also waiting for an opportunity it could turn into a long season for the World Cup winner.
