Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is understood to be keen to sign another striker before the transfer window closes
Man Utd: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer addresses defensive issues
Manchester United have reportedly set their sights on Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik as he looks to add more firepower to his attack. The only complication is that Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho is also thought to be keen to sign Milik as a back up to main man Harry Kane.
United have reportedly held talks with Tottenham transfer target Arkadiusz Milik as Napoli look to sell the striker.
Multiple reports have linked with Poland international with a move to the Premier League, while it was thought he would join Roma on loan earlier this month.
However, Milik is still on Napoli’s books, despite slipping down the pecking order under Genaro Gattuso.
Spurs manager Jose Mourinho is thought to be keen to sign Milik as a back up to main man Harry Kane.
Meanwhile, Everton have also been linked with the 26-year-old, who scored 14 goals in all competitions last season.
Carlo Ancelotti knows Milik well from his time at Napoli, and has already shown he is not afraid to use his contacts to land some big signings.
Reports from Italy now suggest that Spurs and Everton could be superseded to his signature by Manchester United.
According to Rai Sports reporter Ciro Venerato, the Red Devils have held talks over a move after making an approach for Milik.

The striker has been left out of both of Napoli’s match day squads so far this season, and is thought to be available for around £22.8m, which is the fee the Serie A side supposedly accepted from Roma earlier in the summer.
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is understood to be keen to sign another striker before the transfer window closes next month.
Anthony Martial is still his main man up front, with Odion Ighalo providing back up.
But the Nigerian is due to return to China at the turn of the year, leaving United potentially short in attack.
