Liverpool ready to sell eight players with Rhian Brewster agreement close
Liverpool are looking to balance their books in the final few weeks of the transfer window.
Liverpool: Brewster reacts to scoring two goals against Salzburg
Liverpool are reportedly willing to offload up to eight players on a permanent basis this summer, including Divock Origi with Rhian Brewster close to leaving the club. The Reds enjoyed a successful weekend after seeing deals to sign Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota followed up with a 2-0 win over Chelsea.
Jurgen Klopp had to utilise Fabinho as a makeshift centre-back with both Joel Matip and Joe Gomez out injured.
But the Brazilian put in a man-of-the-match performance to kill the threat of Timo Werner going forward.
Thiago was also handed his debut, coming on for Jordan Henderson at half-time.
And the Spain international managed to break a Premier League record having completed 75 passes in his 45-minute appearance - the most since records began in 2003.

Klopp will be hoping Jota can have a similar impact with Liverpool's summer activity in terms of incomings potentially done.
But now Liverpool will be spending the final few weeks of the window trying to trim down their squad with Brewster attracting plenty of interest.
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder made no secret of his desire to sign the 20-year-old last week.
"We have made an enquiry," he said.

"I am not going to mug everybody off by saying there hasn’t been an enquiry.
"I have spoken to the manager and the club has spoken to Liverpool - that situation has been left for the CEO to speak and I will get my answers off him regarding Rhian and other targets as well."
But the Daily Mail suggest Crystal Palace may beat United to the signing of Brewster.
It is claimed that Liverpool are ready to accept a £20million offer from Palace, but they want a buy-back option included as well as a sell-on clause.
He isn't the only Liverpool player heading for the exit door though with seven more players reportedly up for sale.
Origi is said to be one of those with Diogo Jota's arrival meaning more competition for the Belgian forward to feature this season.
Marko Grujic, Harry Wilson, Loris Karius, Nat Phillips, Yasser Larouci and Taiwo Awoniyi are also reportedly available to leave the club.
It has previously been suggested that Liverpool are hoping to get £20m each for Grujic and Wilson.
The Wales forward impressed on loan at Bournemouth last season while Grujic has been a target for Borussia Monchengladbach.
