Liverpool: Thiago Alcantara transfer weighed up by pundit
Liverpool transfer target Thiago Alcantara has said goodbye to his Bayern Munich team-mates who remain in Germany, according to German football expert Patrick Strasser. Thiago played for Bayern in the 8-2 demolition of Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-final in Lisbon on Friday night. But the Spaniard is said to be very keen for a move away from the club this summer.
Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move for the player who Strasser claims Bayern will want up to £36million for.
And Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is said to be "desperate" to sign the 29-year-old, who has said farewell to the players who have not travelled to Portugal for the knockout stages.
“I think so yeah, he definitely wants to, and it’s just a matter of how many millions Bayern want to earn from this player," Strasser told talkSPORT.
“It’s said they want to make about €30m to €40m this transfer and I’m not sure if Liverpool can afford that or want to pay that.

“Those are things that all those players in the middle of the park for Liverpool have.
“That isn’t Alcantara. But at the same time, having a player like that to bring on, he can play in the FA Cup, the League Cup, you can bring him on and give him half an hour to pass the ball around if that’s what you need.
“I would sign him, I think he’s a quality player. If the money is right, go and get him.”
