Barcelona vs Bayern Munich: Muller reacts to 8-2 victory
Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen was singled out for criticism by Rio Ferdinand during his side's shock 8-2 Champions League quarter-final defeat to Bayern Munich on Friday. Bayern raced into a 4-1 lead before half time with some clinical finishing in front of goal. But former centre-back Ferdinand said there were many examples of poor defending from both sides in the first half.
Barca persisted in playing out from the back and were lucky not to concede more than they did.
Ter Stegen looked particularly uncomfortable and was forced into a fine save from a close-range Robert Lewandowski shot moments after he had given the ball away to Bayern.
And it was the Germany goalkeeper who Ferdinand name-checked at half time.
Ferdinand said on BT Sport: "[It's been] crazy, some schoolboy moments in terms of the high line both teams are playing, the mistakes they're making continuously, similar mistakes especially from Ter Stegen at the back, passing the ball out.

"There's a lot of beautiful football players, really fabulous players, but you look at Liverpool and what they have, the blend between football and power, pace.
"That Barca team is brilliant if they have the ball and they might not have as much of it as they normally do. It lacks power.
"You look at Bayern there, they've got [David] Alaba, they've got [Robert] Lewandowski, they've got [Alphonso] Davies, they've got [Serge] Gnabry - they've got so much pace and power. Barca don't have that."
