Man Utd: Dembele and Costa transfers assessed by pundits
Manchester United and Real Madrid are reportedly refusing to give up on their pursuit of Barcelona star Ansu Fati - despite Lionel Messi's brother and agent Rodrigo Messi stepping in to help the youngster with his off-pitch affairs.
Fati is widely regarded as one of the brightest talents across Europe and broke into Barcelona's first team this year.
The 17-year-old left Sevilla's youth system in 2012 to join La Masia, where he has graduated from the academy into the senior setup.
The winger has made 32 appearances across all competitions this year, scoring eight goals.
But before Fati made his debut United made 'serious attempts' to take him to Old Trafford, according to the Athletic.
The teenager's contract was up for renewal so his father Bori enlisted the help of Rodrigo to assist with negotiations.

A new deal was agreed which keeps Fati at the Nou Camp until 2022 - unless his £90million release clause is triggered.
Fati has adapted to senior football much better than expected which has reignited United and Real's interest.
If the attacker goes on to become one of the best players in the world then he would be a steal at £90m.
Barcelona know this and are hoping to put a new contract on the table this summer with an even larger exit clause - which Rodrigo will again be involved in.
