Leicester v Man Utd Premier League clash previewed
Manchester United's top priority heading into the summer transfer window is completing a deal for Jadon Sancho, but they're also reportedly considering a move to Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes. The central defender, valued at £22.5million, looks destined to leave the Ligue 1 side with a number of clubs linked with a move.
United spent big on both Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka last summer to improve their defensive record.
While Maguire has occasionally been caught out due to his lack of pace, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's defensive record has vastly improved from last season.
The 36 goals conceded in the Premier League is 18 better than last season when Solskjaer often changed between Phil Jones and Chris Smalling as Victor Lindelof's playing partner.
Only Manchester City and Liverpool have a better defensive record than United this season, but it appears as though Solskjaer is keen to bolster his options even further.
But it seems that United are prepared to swoop in at the last minute with Solskjaer said to be keen to bring in a left-footed defender to partner Maguire.
The United boss has often shifted to a five-man defence this season, but it has meant full-back Luke Shaw being moved to the left-sided central defender.
United are hoping to trim their squad in the summer to help fund other targets.
Reports have suggested they will look to sell at least two central defenders.

Chris Smalling has spent the entire season on loan at Roma and the Serie A side want to make his deal permanent.
Meanwhile, Marcos Rojo was loaned out to his boyhood club, Estudiantes, for the remainder of the season but he has only been able to play one game due the coronavirus pandemic in Argentina and injury problems.
The 30-year-old wants to stay at Estudiantes and his agent recently all-but confirmed the defender will unlikely return to United for next season.
"I couldn’t comment on what [Ole Gunnar] Solskjaer thinks but I think it’s obvious," Barnett told Stretty News.
"I think with Rojo, probably [a move] is more than likely somewhere else."
