Leeds United are interested in signing Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, according to reports. Marco Bielsa is keen to sign a new shot-stopper with Manchester United’s Sergio Romero on their radar. But Martinez, it seems, is wanted too.
Leeds will be back in the Premier League next season, with Bielsa guiding them to the top-flight for the first time since 2004.
As a result the Whites are keen to sign a new goalkeeper, despite Kiko Casilla conceding less than one goal per game this season.
Manchester United’s Romero is on their radar, with the Argentina international frustrated by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s refusal to pick him despite David De Gea’s erratic displays.
United also have Dean Henderson heading back from his loan spell at Sheffield United, while Nathan Bishop and Joel Pereira are also on their books.
Yet The Athletic say that Leeds are also keen on signing Arsenal’s Martinez.
When Bernd Leno was injured in the 2-1 defeat to Brighton in June, many feared for the Gunners.

But Martinez has become a key player for Arsenal, helping the club rediscover some momentum and reach the final of the FA Cup.
A good, reliable goalkeeper is always of paramount importance for teams promoted back to the Premier League and Martinez, as well as Romero, would fit the bill.
But whether Arsenal would let him go, and whether Leeds are able to convince him into moving to Elland Road, remains to be seen.
As well as a new shot-stopper, Leeds are also determined to invest in a new centre-forward.
Edinson Cavani is one player in Bielsa’s sights, with the Paris Saint-Germain star poised to become a free agent once their Champions League campaign draws to a close.
And they’re also interested in signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, whose future at AC Milan beyond the end of the current season is up in the air.
Meanwhile, former Leeds boss David O’Leary recently warned Bielsa he’d have to make some big decisions in the transfer market following the side’s promotion to the Premier League.
“I think they’re an ideal fit for the Premier League and they’ll make the Premier League even better,” he said.
“The attractive football Bielsa plays will only be good.
"He’s an ambitious manager and he’ll want to do the same.
"They’ll have a go, they won't be in awe of their opponents and they’ll take people on.
