Henderson has aspirations of replacing Jordan Pickford in the international team and to do so he must be playing regularly on the biggest stages.
Former Premier League striker Kevin Campbell would like to see the Red Devils star put pressure on De Gea for a starting spot.
"I think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can’t really mess about with that number one spot," he said.
"David De Gea has been amazing for Manchester United but some mistakes are starting to creep into his game a little bit now.

To have real competition, Henderson’s been getting games and has been performing here, so him going back to Manchester United could be a thing of beauty in the end.
"Jordan Pickford’s the number one, Henderson has designs on being the number one, whether he goes back to Manchester United or he stays here, he believes he’s going to be a top, top goalkeeper and he’s going to be in with a shout for England so the spotlight’s going to be on him."
