Tottenham given 48 hours to make £35m transfer decision or risk missing out
Tottenham are battling Everton for the signature of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton.
Tottenham: Mourinho says team ’not strong enough’ after loss
Tottenham face a race against time to complete a move to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton with the south coast club ready to move ahead in negotiations with Everton. Hojbjerg has just one year left on his contract at Southampton and looks increasingly likely to leave the club in the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old was recently stripped of the captaincy at Southampton after indicating he wanted to leave to join a bigger club.
That has prompted interest from both Everton and Tottenham ahead of the summer transfer window opening on July 27.
And it appears as though Southampton want to get an agreement done early.
So far, no club has been able to match the £35million valuation from Southampton.

Everton though appear to be more advanced in their negotiations than Tottenham.
According to the Evening Standard, Spurs are still vastly short of offering the £20m bid from Everton which has been rejected by Southampton.
The report adds that Hojbjerg would prefer a move to north London, but Southampton aren't willing to wait around for Tottenham to increase their offer.
It is claimed Tottenham have up to 48 hours to show their intent before Southampton move forward in a deal with Everton.

Jose Mourinho's side may hold a slight advantage in negotiations as Southampton are keen to make Kyle Walker-Peters's loan move permanent.
That could help bring the price down in a bid to sign Hojbjerg, but Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl recently made it clear that the club aren't willing to drop their asking price.
“If somebody else wants to get him, then they must make a make a good offer," he said.
“And even then, we have to decide, we as a club, the player has to decide, so we have to find a win-win situation and then everybody is happy.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: Ralph Hasenhuttl discusses contract
“As long as we don’t have this, he is our player and he will stay with us.
“He wants to give everything as long as he is with us.
“This is what I expect because he is our player, he gets money from us, he’s paid by us. This is what he should do.
“About his future, he knows that there is some interest and hopefully, yeah, a club that wants him really shows that they want him. If not, he stays with us.”
