But it was legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson who United can thank for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's insistence on making sure the team score as many goals as possible.
After losing the title to Manchester City in 2012 on goal difference, Ferguson vowed to never have that happen again.
“No matter the years of experience we have had in terms of winning titles, last year was different," he said.
“It was the first time anyone has beaten us on goal difference. It cost us the league and it won’t happen again, trust me on that.”

Solskjaer's said recently: “Hopefully the goal difference won’t be the deciding factor because we should have had 10 more goals the last two games.
"We are happy with the way we create chances but we need to be more clinical.”
United still have West Ham and Leicester to play on the final day of the season.
Chelsea take on Liverpool and Wolves in their final games.
