Tottenham: Mourinho says team ’not strong enough’ after loss
Tottenham should sack manager Jose Mourinho if it does not appear likely the Portuguese will lead the club to silverware or the Premier League top four next season, says former Spurs midfielder Jamie O'Hara. Mourinho was appointed Tottenham boss last November, replacing the sacked Mauricio Pochettino. However, the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager has not been able to see the rise in results that he and the club would have wanted.
Tottenham are eighth in the Premier League table, nine points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
O'Hara says Mourinho should be given the summer window to bring in players he wants but believes if it appears likely next season will end without a trophy then he should be replaced.
"Give him a transfer window, see what he does next season," O'Hara said on talkSPORT.
"If he can bring a trophy to the club, then it's been worthwhile.

"If it doesn't look like we're going to win a trophy and the fans - the thing is with Spurs fans is they expectation and [Pochettino] did turn us into a consistently top-four football team - and if we're not going to be that all of a sudden with that stadium and where the club are trying to go, then we have to get rid."
Tottenham beat Everton 1-0 on Monday but O'Hara says his excitement of watching his old team have gone.

"I was a big fan of when Mourinho came in and it was like 'Right, we're going to win a trophy, I'm all for it, let's win a trophy, it doesn't matter how we do it, let's just win a trophy'.
"But actually, I'm now sitting there thinking 'I've absolutely lost all excitement of watching Spurs, I loved it with Poch' and even though we had a bit of a poor start to the season, there was a bit of unrest in the dressing room, I still loved watching them, I loved seeing how they played.
"Now, I'm watching them thinking: 'I'd rather put Come Dine With Me on'."
Harry Kane and Heung-min Son are back fit following their respective injuries, which makes Spurs' performances even worse for O'Hara.
"There were no excuses now for Mourinho now they'd come back from lockdown," he said.
"Everyone was back fit, he had a full squad, the excuses with Harry Kane and Son and all that were gone, so I was excited to see how they came back."
"And I thought can they be like Man United have been and like Chelsea have been?
"They've come back and they've looked fit, they look strong, they look dynamic.
"And Tottenham have been the complete opposite, they've been a complete bore to watch."
