Jimenez moved to Benfica in 2015 after a season at Atletico Madrid and scored 31 goals in 120 appearances for the Portuguese side.
The 29-year-old then arrived at Molineux on a season-long loan in 2018 and scored 13 Premier League goals in his debut campaign.
Wolves quickly decided to activate their £30million purchase option and Jimenez has continued to progress - scoring his 14th goal of the season against West Ham on Saturday.
The goal at the London Stadium saw him break his own single-season record for most goals scored by a Mexican player.

Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid have all been linked with a mega-money move for the centre-forward.
But reports in Spain suggest that Juventus could throw a spanner in the works.
Newspaper AS claim the Serie A champions are prepared to pay £27.1million plus defender Daniele Rugani and winger Federico Bernardeschi to offset Wolves' £54million asking price.
The offer of Bernardeschi in exchange could be even more disappointing for Manchester United, who are reported to have made an enquiry for the Italian international.
It's thought Juventus view Jimenez as the perfect replacement for Gonzalo Higuain, who will leave Turin at the end of the season.

The Mexico striker recently sent transfer speculation spinning after revealing that he's hoping to complete a transfer in the near future.
“It is something very cool," he said. “Different teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool - they are teams that are important in football history.
“It is an incredible thing to be on the radar and on the lips of those teams.
“They are rumours but it is something good for me to continue growing, making an effort and taking it as an incentive so that, if possible, I can achieve it."
