Chelsea, Man Utd receive transfer boost as Federico Chiesa learns English in case of move
Chelsea and Manchester United have both been handed a boost in their pursuit of Federico Chiesa as the Fiorentina ace is reportedly learning English in preparation for a potential transfer.
Federico Chiesa scores winning goal for Fiorentina against Milan
Chelsea and Manchester United transfer target Federico Chiesa is reportedly learning English in preparation for a potential move to the Premier League. Fiorentina director general Joe Barone recently revealed that a number of clubs are monitoring La Viola’s star winger and the latest development suggests a transfer could be on the horizon.
Chiesa has shone in Serie A since breaking into the first team at the Stadio Artemio Franchi and has already racked up over 120 league appearances, aged just 22.
Seven goals and five assists in all competitions this term has put the winger on the radar of several European clubs, with Chelsea and United thought to be leading the chase.
And now Calcio Mercato report that Chiesa is taking English lessons in order to avoid being caught unprepared in the instance of a move to the UK.
Fiorentina are believed to value Chiesa in the region of £60million, although it remains to be seen how the coronavirus crisis will affect the transfer market.

Speaking about Chiesa on Radio Toscana, Barone said: “We’ll see what his future will be at the end of the season.
“He is sought-after by Italian clubs, but also from foreign ones.”
Meanwhile, Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso admitted that he was open to selling Chiesa in the future, provided the price was right.
“We had a meeting before Christmas if I'm not mistaken,” he told Radio Toscana.

“If he wants to go then I'm sorry, but we'd accommodate him, providing the offer is fair. We must also see what he's worth.
“[His price] may have dropped since last year. It must suit everyone, although there's a chance that he'll stay.
“I haven't offered Federico anything. There hasn't been a proposal, it's fake news. The important thing is that a player wants to stay.”
Chiesa would be a welcome attacking reinforcement for Chelsea as both Willian and Pedro are out of contract this summer.
The Blues are also monitoring Jadon Sancho but United are in for the Borussia Dortmund ace, who is thought to cost upwards of £120m.
Chiesa would therefore present a much more affordable option for the Stamford Bridge club as manager Frank Lampard plans a major overhaul of his squad.
A striker, left-back, centre-back and goalkeeper are all thought to be on the club’s wishlist so they may welcome the opportunity to save cash which could be invested elsewhere.
This will be particularly pertinent if Chelsea complete a deal for Ben Chilwell, as the Leicester defender is thought to be valued at £80m.
Meanwhile, United are looking to add squad depth and attacking creativity after struggling in front of goal so far this season.
