Timo Werner could be set to move to Liverpool at the end of the season and the striker has been quite public about his interest in a move to Anfield. It's a possible destination that is clearly attractive to Werner, something that is reflected in comments he made over three years ago that have resurfaced.

He initially stated that he would make a decision on his future after the European Championships but that may now have changed given the tournament is postponed.
The 23-year-old has made his feelings known and with Liverpool currently at the peak of their powers, Werner wants to become a part of that.
"Yes I know that Liverpool is the best team in the moment in the world," he told Viasport.
"When you’re linked with the team, it makes me very proud.
“In case of that, it’s a pleasure, but I know that in Liverpool play a lot of good players and I have to improve myself to learn much more things to get on this level to play there.”

Werner is deemed the perfect fit to Klopp's style of high-pressing attacking football, having thrived in a similar set-up under Julian Nagelsmann.
“There's one of the best managers in the world with Jurgen Klopp, and he is also German,” Werner said in February.
“Many things suggest that I would maybe fit in (at Liverpool) very well with my playing style.
"But I don't think about that at the moment because we have so much to do with Leipzig.”
Werner wants Liverpool, it's just a case of how much Liverpool want Werner with his £52million release clause set to expire on June 15.
