Arsenal: Alexandre Lacazette scores incredible goal in training
Atletico Madrid believe they can sign Alexandre Lacazette from Arsenal in the next transfer window. The Spanish capital club are on the hunt for a new striker amid doubts over Diego Costa’s future at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Atletico Mardrid reached a verbal arrangement to sign Lacazette from Lyon in 2017 before Arsenal swooped to win the race for his signature.
The Frenchman could be on the verge of finally making the switch three years later after a challenging campaign at the Emirates Stadium.
He has scored nine goals in 26 appearances but found himself out of Mikel Arteta’s starting XI for the team’s last three games before the Premier League was ground to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Eddie Nketiah, who failed to break into Leeds United’s team while on loan at Elland Road in the first half of the season, was given the nod, with Arteta looking to freshen up his squad with a youthful exuberance.

“Of course you always see the one scoring the goals, like Aubameyang – who is a goalscoring machine – but the amount of work Laca puts in is amazing.
“The way he holds the ball, the way he fights for the ball, the way he presses the defence.
“This is invisible work that not everyone will see. But for Arsenal’s system and the way they want to play, he is amazing.
“He can score many goals, in front of the goal he is clinical. But most of the time he has his back to the goal.
“When he receives the ball, he is trying to protect and defend the ball for other players.”
